Today, I would like you to meet StaC Peterson from StormFlightDesigns. She is a fellow jeweler I met on Facebook.
We started exchanging messages on some wire weaving techniques and have kept in touch since.
StormFlightDesigns makes great jewelry pieces and I particularly like her computer key collection!
How long have you been making jewelry?
About 2 1/2 years. After taking a Silver class at William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, I became obsessed with it. My poor family never gets a decent meal any more!
What techniques do you use most?
Traditional silver-working techniques…soldering, fusing, forming, chain making…
What inspires you?
Usually a stone or gem that I find will “speak” to me and tell me what it wants to be. Sometimes I’m not even sure how to do it and it hovers in my mind for a while until I figure it out.
The inspiration for my computer key jewelry came from my youngest daughter who wants to be a computer programmer.
What do you like most about your craft/art?
I love taking raw, natural materials that are beautiful and combining them and making something completely new and still beautiful.
