I was at the McCord Museum Fair from November 25 to November 28 to exhibit my sliver creations. It’s been a great experience for me. Actually, it was my first big exhibition since I started making silver jewelry. I was happy to sell some of my expensive creations along with some crazy designs that I had so much fun making but that I thought could not easily sell. And along the way, I met some very talented and fun people!
And I was so proud when the manager responsible for the Fair told us that we were selected among 250 candidates:
“This year, the McCord Museum has focused on bringing together artisans whose work reflects our city’s contemporary image. The McCord’s selection committee has made an effort to seek out new talent from among today’s most promising artists,” states Suzanne Sauvage, President and CEO of the McCord Museum, who goes on to explain that exhibitors have been chosen based on specific criteria, such as skill level, creativity, quality, their ability to reflect what’s new, their contemporary approach, and their uniqueness. Only artisans from the Greater Montreal region were selected. “Montreal’s history is being written as we speak, and the McCord Museum strives to stay current by organizing events and exhibitions that are both in the spirit of the times and that showcase the creativity of local Quebecers. La Foire du Musée McCord is one example of this policy, in that it provides us with an opportunity to exhibit new talent,” she adds.
