How to get ready for a first big outdoor exhibition?

Last month, I received a positive answer to my application to the Festival International Montreal en Arts. I’m so happy and excited!

This year is the 12th edition and will run from June 29th to July 3rd, 2011.

Last year, there were 300 artists and artisans and hundreds of thousands of visitors. You can see from the pictures on their website that the streets were indeed full of people.

This is going to be my first big official art show. So I am working hard on getting everything ready.

Here’s a checklist of things I am working on:

  • buying parts to put together a booth that is easy to assemble and to dismantle because the Festival is outdoor. And of course I need a booth that I’ll be able to reuse for other shows.
  • buying displays that would nicely exhibit my jewelry and that would complement those I already have on hands.
  • getting a wireless POS terminal to be able to accept VISA, MC, Amex and Interac, as many tourists that will come to the Festival will probably not carry lots of cash.
  • checking the availability of people who could help me out during the Festival.
  • creating a special line for the Festival.
  • building up inventory.
  • letting everyone I know that I’ll be at the Festival!

Have I forgotten something?
